Pearly white canine teeth
So I get home from work with the baby, let the dog out and give him a doggie treat, take her with me to the mailbox to check the mail, then set her down in the living room to go put the mail on the counter. I notice the dog isn't eating his bone and go back to check on Shanna. I guess she was hungry because she stole the bone. She wasn't making much progress without the canine teeth but I still had to get a picture...

Breaking the Bank
My kids are breaking the bank. Oh, not in the usual way like eating us out of house and home or begging for a toy at Wal-Mart, I'm talking about the Tooth Fairy bank. Yes, they found out it was me. Plus, I think inflation is a factor. When I was a kid I got maybe a quarter or a fifty-cent piece. In fact, I probably still have a few of those original fifty-cent pieces, and they must not have meant as much to me back then because I had to be coerced into getting them pulled. My grandfather would tell me he just wanted to wiggle it, yet somehow it always happened to be loose enough for him to take it with a little yank. I loved it and hated it at the same time. Well, the going rate these days is 5 bucks. I'm not sure if I am getting ripped off or not, but it is cheaper than a trip to the dentist. Anyway, in the last month or so Jenna has lost two and Jesse has lost three. The other day Jesse tells me to get my money out because he has another loose one. It makes me wonder if they have some shark DNA, as I understand sharks grow teeth continuously throughout their life. But enough of that, I better wrap it up-- I have to make another run to the ATM...

Shanna's First Birthday
I cannot underline it enough that Shanna's first birthday was the event of the year. We were very pleased that Shawn's parents, Ron and Joyce, (Pop and Grammie), were able to come out from California. (Also that Ron convinced me to start this blog.) Pop as always was very helpful in the kitchen and Grammie did her best to spoil the grandkids.
Brent (Shawn's brother) and his wife, Melinda, also came out from California, with their kids: Jake, Paige, and Noah. We enjoyed their visit and the opportunity to have game night (Settler's of Catan and Bang.) Also, Brent took me to Cottonwood Park and showed me how to play Frisbee Golf. I sure can't fling it as far as Brent, but I improved the second time we went out and actually "birdied" a hole.
Also at the birthday party were my parents, Phil and Pat, and my brother, Todd, and his wife, Leslie, as well as their children: Levi, Benjamin, Connor, and Landon. After, the party, Todd, Brent, and I took some of the kids to the park and threw the frisbees around.
